Francis Ngannou‘s bout against Tyson Fury is now as close as it could be. And with it, the speculation of the winner! Will it be Ngannou? Will it be Fury? There’s no real way to tell. All anyone can do is pick a corner and stick to it. And Conor McGregor has decided what he expects from this fight.

That’s right, McGregor will be by ringside as the two heavyweights lock horns. The Irishman will be flying to Saudi Arabia to watch it all unfold live. Recently, he took to Twitter to express his views on the fight. Being from an MMA background like Ngannou, he knew what his weaknesses were.

Conor McGregor predicts Ngannou vs Fury

McGregor recently put out a voice note on Twitter. Something only McGregor can do in his infamous style. He told his followers how he had been invited to watch the match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He felt like the bout was interesting given the nature of it.

After all, it’s a boxer fighting someone who comes from years of MMA. However, for McGregor, things were a little different. He knew Ngannou’s weak points and if he knew them, Fury could know them too. Will this lead to Fury exploiting it all? Here’s what McGregor said.

“Great bout, interesting bout,” McGregor said. “Francis Ngannou for me is more of a kickboxer-slash-boxer than he is a mixed martial artist in my opinion, no he’s more of a standup fighter than he is a mixed martial artist. You start throwing in grappling with Francis, you know, it’s never good for him . . . Francis has power, Francis has big power, with a striker’s mentality if it gets a bit tougher for him in the later rounds. So with power, with that, anything can happen.”

McGregor’s analysis had fans divided. But like it or not, he has a good point. Ngannou has relied on his raw power a lot more during his career with the UFC. The stellar knockouts and punches have led him to fame of his own. Thankfully for him, there is no grappling in boxing so he should be on the safer side of things.

What else did McGregor say?

Conor McGregor also talked about the variables of the fight that could change things up. The biggest one obviously is Mike Tyson in Ngannou’s corner. Tyson has had his share of fights, now, he’s joined forces with ‘The Predator’ to help him defeat Tyson Fury.

Of course, Fury was named after Mike Tyson. The boxer became visibly emotional at a press conference talking about how Tyson should be in his corner not Ngannou’s. Even McGregor emphasized the dynamic between the three. So will Tyson’s training for Ngannou help him beat Fury? Only time can tell.
