Ryan Garcia took the fight to Devin Haney during the boxing match. The Los Alamitos native shocked the world with his upset win over the WBC super lightweight champion via majority decision. Regardless, boxing fans did not think Garcia had it in him to win against Haney since he had lost earlier to Gervonta Davis. They criticized him for that loss, but UFC color commentator Joe Rogan came to the aid of the 25-year-old.
Gervonta Davis extended his winning streak to 29 fights after beating Ryan Garcia last April. The fight ended in the seventh round as a body shot from ‘Tank’ brought down ‘KingRy’. Following that fight, fans on social media kept talking about Garcia giving up after getting knocked down, claiming that it was too easy for Davis to win. Davis even used his win over the 25-year-old as an example to warn his future opponents. Regardless, Joe Rogan believed otherwise and emphasized the body shot that ended the boxing match.

“The liver’s awful,” Joe Rogan stated. Even Bas Rutten agreed with the longtime UFC commentator and said, “It’s the worst.” He further pointed out how fans were criticizing Ryan Garcia for giving up in the seventh round. But Joe Rogan suggested that those people should get in the right and then they would understand how painful liver shots are.
He added, “O My God! People were saying when Ryan Garcia went down against Tank Davis, and people saying like he quit. Like, have you ever been hit there before?” Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia bounced back from that loss and registered one of the biggest wins of his career against Devin Haney.
