Conor McGregor appears to have hit a hurdle in his fighting career after reports surfaced that he’s been suspended for 18 months. This suspension comes in the wake of the Irishman’s failure to provide his whereabouts for multiple drug tests last year. But on the other hand, his time working as a promoter has been a pretty exciting one, because when he shared his reaction to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s comments on BKFC, fans chimed in to give McGregor an idea for a fight that he could set up.

Jake Paul has used some choice words regarding Conor McGregor and his BKFC promotion. During a conversation with DAZN’s Patricia Duong at the Prudential Center at BKFC 82, ‘The Notorious’ was told that ‘El Gallo’ had trashed the bare-knuckle outfit, downplaying its status as a legitimate force in the combat sports world. Duong also revealed that Paul has no intention of ever considering competing in the BKFC.
“He [Jake Paul] was like, ‘I don’t care about your stupid promotion. Like, stupid company. I don’t want a bare-knuckle fight anyway,” Patricia Duong told Conor McGregor in a conversation captured on camera and shared on DAZN’s social media handle. When the former UFC double champion heard that Paul doesn’t want anything to do with bare-knuckle boxing, he let out a hysterical laugh.

But the fans have an idea for Conor McGregor to set up a big fight in the BKFC featuring the promotion’s biggest star, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry. Here’s what they had to say.

Fans urge Conor McGregor to set up Jake Paul against Mike Perry in bare-knuckle
Mike Perry looked way smaller in comparison when he took on Jake Paul in a boxing match last year. Given that he stepped into the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s world, fans believe that it will only be appropriate for Paul to come and compete against Perry in the BKFC. “Mike Perry fought Jake in boxing it’s only right that Jake fights him in bkfc,” said one fan. This could be a great opportunity for Conor McGregor as a promoter, given that Paul has become somewhat of a box office draw in recent times.
One fan wrote, “The only fight that I would ever watch Jake Paul in is if it would be in bkfc.” But it seems like they are not convinced and sold on the fact that Paul is willing to take that risk, given that he won’t be getting to wear any gloves, which he’s used to: “Jake would never.”
Meanwhile, some fans found Conor McGregor’s reaction hilarious, commenting, “Who Whoo,” which was what he had to say when Patricia Duong first mentioned Jake Paul during their conversation. The claims about the YouTube star staging his fights kept coming, with one fan stating, “Mike Perry dived, you really think he cant beat jake paul.”
Some fans seem to understand the brutal nature of bare-knuckle fighting, as Conor McGregor mentioned above, claiming that it’s not for everyone. “I would imagine it scares most. Seems like it takes a certain type of fighter to go raw dog knuckles.”

On the other hand, Conor McGregor was called out to make a couple of fights happen. Former UFC fighter Yoel Romero, who’s signed to BKFC, not only wants the Perry vs Paul fight, but he also offered himself to take on Darren Till. “Paul vs Mike,, Till vs me,” Romero commented on Instagram. This sure sounds exciting to most fans.
Well, the chances of Conor McGregor actively engaging in promotional work and setting up fights in the coming months seem unlikely. He recently announced that he is going on a sabbatical from social media, with his eyes set on making a return at UFC White House. We’ll have to wait and see if he considers the Paul vs Perry fight in BKFC because it does have a lot of potential to garner massive attention in the combat sports world.
