Jose Aldo also entered this decorated list very recently as the UFC featherweight legend secured a win on his boxing debut.

Jorge Masvidal was a guest on ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani, recently. He had some exciting things to say about Aldo’s new boxing career. During the later part of the interview, ‘Gamebred’ announced that the legendary Brazilian will be fighting fellow MMA fighter Jeremy Stephens under Masvidal’s ‘Gamebred’ promotion.

Jorge Masvidal praises Jose Aldo

Masvidal only had good words about Jose Aldo. According to the 38-year-old MMA fighter, the Brazilian is “one of the greatest or the greatest featherweight in UFC history.” Masvidal praised the 36-year-old’s move to boxing and said that he “always wanted to see him (Jose) box”. According to Masvidal, Aldo is making the right moves in his boxing career.

The welterweight contender also praised the former UFC champion’s future opponent, Jeremy Stephens, and called him a “brute force”. Masvidal said “He(Aldo) is gonna drop big bombs, he is gonna come forward” while talking about Aldo’s fighting style. Aldo has the speed, the skill, the timing.” Hearing Masvidal’s words, it is pretty evident that he is an admirer of the former UFC star and respects the legend for his contribution to the sport.

Jose Aldo and Jeremy Stephens are not facing each other for the first time. They squared off at UFC ON FOX on 29th July 2018. Aldo managed to knock out Stephens in the very first round of the co-main event fight on the night.

Now, the two fighters are going to battle it out in a boxing ring under Masvidal’s promotion, as reported by ESPN. It will be interesting to see if Stephens can exact his revenge on the Brazilian in the boxing ring. Masvidal’s interview happened days before Aldo’s boxing debut. The former featherweight champion won his boxing debut against Emmanuel Zambrano in Brazil.

Aldo’s next fight is going to be in the Gamebred Boxing 4 event at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, April 1. The retired UFC legend, also known as ‘Scarface’, has plans to pursue boxing for a long time, and fans are excited to see more action from him.
