Khamzat Chimaev has taken a shot at the sport of boxing! During the recent build-up to their upcoming clash, boxers Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney were involved in a heated back-and-forth. The pair are set to clash on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The undefeated Haney is looking to continue on his winning ways after he picked up notable victories over Regis Prograis and Vasyl Lomachenko last year.

However, a video was recently shared online with the two men involved in a heated exchange of words standing face-to-face with one another. The post on social media prompted ‘Borz’ to chime in on the situation with an interesting observation about the differences in face-offs in boxing compared to MMA.

The clash between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia is heating up. The pair are set to clash for the WBC super lightweight title, in New York, a location that is preferred by Haney. In a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, he stated, “…it’s here [in Brooklyn], this is where it’s going to be and, like I said, Queen Ry can go cry about it. It’s happening April 20th.”

Ryan Garcia, on the other hand, is looking to make a statement against Haney who currently holds a record of 31-0. And in a recent video shared on Instagram, the pair could be seen exchanging heated barbs while standing mere inches from one another.

This led to Khamzat Chimaev taking to the comment section and exclaiming, “How can you be so close and not hit? MMA is different,” hinting at how he might have handled a similar situation.

What makes this comment from the MMA star all the more interesting is that Garcia has been beefing with UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley. The pair seems inclined to recreate the iconic Mayweather vs. McGregor boxing bout from 2017. Suffice it to say that this one seems far from happening anytime soon. Or even at all.

Nevertheless, as the countdown to April 20th continues, fans eagerly await the outcome of this intense showdown between Garcia and Davis in the boxing ring, with ‘Borz’s remark adding an interesting wrinkle to the storyline surrounding the bout.

But despite his comments about the pair not engaging in an altercation, Chimaev’s inactivity off social media has also recently been highlighted by his rival!

Paulo Costa wants the Chimaev fight

Paulo Costa has got Khamzat Chimaev in his crosshairs, signaling his intentions to possibly face ‘Borz’ again soon. The highly anticipated clash between Costa and Chimaev was set for UFC 294 last year but fell through due to Costa’s health issues.

After his recent loss against Robert Whittaker at UFC 298, ‘The Eraser’ has taken shots at Chimaev and his inactivity from competition. In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Costa stated, “He needs to have b*lls to face me. For a long time, long time, this guy just avoids these fights. He has no b*lls.”

Initially dismissive of a rematch with Chimaev, Costa now sees it as a viable option following his recent defeat. He acknowledged that “If I had won, I would not want to fight him, but right now it makes sense because I lost.”

Costa’s willingness to entertain the idea of a rematch underscores his determination to redeem himself and get back on the winning track. Whether this rematch materializes remains to be seen, but Costa’s comments have certainly added fuel to the fire of anticipation in the MMA community.
