Khamzat Chimaev Shares a Message From Mike Tyson, After Strongly Refusing to Appear on His Podcast

Khamzat Chimaev, the welterweight star of UFC, recently shared words of wisdom from the heavyweight boxing legend, Mike Tyson, on his social media handle.

With just five wins under his name, the Russian-born Swedish fighter Chimaev has become a prominent name in the UFC. His rise in the promotion looks very similar to some of the greatest names in combat sports.

However, to be included in the list of GOATs, Chimaev needs to keep the same pace. Nevertheless, given his current form, the Chechen star is on the verge of becoming one of the best fighters in all of MMA.

All these factors have made the ‘Lone Wolf’ a star in the promotion. Consequently, Chimaev has been receiving offers to appear on some famous podcasts, one of which was the ‘Hotboxin’ hosted by Mike Tyson. But, the 28-year-old rejected the offer because of Tyson’s personal issues in the past.

However, Chimaev recently shared a snippet from the same Tyson’s podcast he rejected being a part of on his official Instagram account.

In the video, Tyson shared an important life message from his life experience. He said, “My trainer told me something. It haunted me. He said, Mike, I wanna tell you something. You gotta be careful how you fight your fights. Because by the way you fight your fights, would be the way you live your life.”

“You know what that means? All your mistakes, everything you get to make you successful and to make you fail in boxing, would do the same to you in life.” Tyson concluded. 

Khamzat Chimaev on a quest to become one of the greatest

Many fight fans and pundits already believe that ‘Borz’ is going to be the next champion in the promotion. But will he become one of the greatest fighters of all time?

Chimaev has been mauling his opponents ever since he entered the promotion. He has a stunning 11-0 professional MMA record under his name. And only one of his win have come via decision rest are all finishes. At this pace, there is no stopping the Russian-born fighter.

Chimaev is 28-years-old and after just 10 professional MMA fights, he took on a fighter from the top-5 of the division Gilbert Burns in his last fight. Although, it was one of the toughest fights of his career, ‘Borz’ defeated Burns.

‘Borz’ is an extremely confident guy with high-level fighting skills. He has entered the list of top-5 fighters in one of the biggest MMA promotions at an early stage of his career.

Hence, there’s no doubt Chimaev will be the next big thing in the sport. However, he still has a lot to do in the UFC.
