He stated that he was afraid for ‘Thug Rose’s safety as Weili’s impressive performance in the promotion granted her an aura of invincibility. Her epic fight of the year performance against former champion & Polish fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk earned her high praise from the community.

Mike Tyson had an amusing reaction to Rose Namajunas’ KO victory

Tyson stated that Namajunas’ win over Weili indeed pleased him as she dealt with her in a dominant style. In the first outing at UFC 261, saw ‘Thug Rose‘ walk away with an impressive first-round victory via head-kick KO.

He believes the Chinese fighter indeed took shots at him, and there are no two ways about it. Oddly enough, Weili failed to recapture her title as she once again lost to Namajunas in the rematch right after.

He said, “Remember, listen, Rose, I said Rose is hot and the Chinese girl that’s her fight with said, ‘Mike doesn’t know nothing about boxing, he is an idiot’ and she wanted to fight me, I am so happy Rose knocked her out, I thought she was gonna kill Rose.”

He continued,”That’s why, Rose is hot in the UFC, obviously, and she was like Mike Tyson knows nothing about the fight game and this and that”

The duo first crossed paths back in 2020 at UFC 248. Their bout served as a co-main event, which ended up stealing the show and even went on to become the winner of the prestigious title of ‘Fight of the year’.

It was also being argued that Joanna did enough to get the nod, but sadly, the result did not go her way. Ever since then, the former world champion has been away from the sport. With a 2 year-long hiatus and serious inactivity, Jedrzejczyk is once again about to jump to the deep end of the pool. According to a report by MMA Fighting, the UFC is looking to book the classic rematch in the upcoming card for Singapore.
