Despite retiring from the UFC in 2022, legendary featherweight Jose Aldo is gearing up for another fight. The former UFC featherweight champion will step into the squared circle against Jeremy Stephens at Gamebred Boxing 4. Hoster by UFC welterweight star Jorge ‘Gamebred‘ Masvidal, the event will go down on April 1 in Wisconsin. The stacked card for the event features combat sports heavyweights like former boxing champion Roy Jones Jr., former UFC champion Anthony Pettis, ex-UFC stars Vitor Belfort, Jacare Souza, etc.

Aldo will face former UFC rival Jeremy Stephens in the co-main event of the evening. He finished Stephens in the MMA bout under the UFC in 2018. Aldo scored a KO/TKO win over his featherweight rival in the very first round of their fight. Now, five years from the first fight, the ex-UFC stalwarts are preparing to go at each other again. Only this time, it will be a boxing match.

Coach predicts Jose Aldo will knock out Jeremy Stephens

Jorge Masvidal uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, offering a glimpse at Jose Aldo and his camp ahead of the fight. In the clip, we see Aldo alongside Jacare Souza, doing boxing drills and rigorous training in preparation for Stephens. Additionally, Aldo also spoke about his love for boxing and how Mike Tyson inspired him to take up boxing.

Speaking of the fight, Aldo’s boxing coach Nemo said, “Boxing is a sport of strategy. It’s like chess. It’s fist fencing, where you have to keep your blood cold and be reasonable all the time, and we can see that in Jose Aldo. He’s very tough, but also very smart in the fight.”
