It has been a while since UFC fans have seen Nate Diaz perform in the octagon. During his absence, rumors of him fighting Khamzat Chimaev circulated. However, that fight was never made. Recently during an interview, Diaz revealed that while he accepted the fight, Chimaev was the one who declined it.

During his appearance on The MMA Hour, Diaz said, “They’re offering me all the money in the world, but the only one who turned down the fight is Khamzat for one. So that’s the only fight they offered.”
The UFC star further said, “And why would they offer that way? Because they want me to build another star like I’ve done in the past. Everybody I fight gets the title fight.”

Over the last few months, Diaz also has been rumored to face Jake Paul. The fighter also made a request to be released while dropping a hint about the same.
Will Nate Diaz fight Jake Paul?
Regardless of the opinion people have of him, Jake Paul is continuing to make waves in combat sports. The Ohio-born fighter has already faced two former UFC stars in Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. However, it is likely Paul might have another UFC star added to the list.
The saga began when Nate Diaz on Twitter uploaded a video of Jake Paul knocking out Tyron Woodley. The fighter also asked the UFC to give him a fight, or he would head in a different direction. Diaz wrote, “Ufc release now please or give me fight with anyone in July or august I have bigger shit to do”

While the tweet went viral among fans, UFC President Dana White reacted to it too. The UFC boss did not seem to be sad about letting Diaz go. White added, “He probably should go on and fight Jake Paul.” This statement by White was not taken kindly by Diaz who requested to part ways with the UFC. In another tweet, Diaz wrote, “Send the release”

Even if Nate Diaz gets his release, the fighter won’t be seen in the ring with Paul immediately. ‘The Problem Child’ is scheduled to fight Hasim Rahman Jr. on August 6th, 2022. While the fight does not look possible now, a match-up between Diaz and Paul may be possible in the future.
