MMA veteran Nate Diaz is gearing up for his first boxing match against YouTube sensation Jake Paul on August 5. The boxing match will be an eight-rounder, which will take place at the American Airlines Center. His former rival, Conor McGregor, joined the conversation to provide a prediction for the fight. Now, the Stockton native has returned the favor by providing his prediction for McGregor’s upcoming fight against Michael Chandler.

Conor McGregor appeared in an interview last month, where he claimed that Nate Diaz would come out on top against Jake Paul. He was looking forward to watching the fight unfold.

Nate Diaz predicts the winner between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler

During his interview with the ‘MMA Junkie’, the Stockton native claimed that the UFC asked him to be one of the coaches for ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, but that opportunity didn’t interest him a lot. Instead, Diaz declined that opportunity. He said, “I never wanted to do ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, though. I wasn’t interested in doing that.”

When it came to predicting who’d win between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor, he had some good things to say about ‘Iron’. Diaz said, “Chandler’s real tough and explosive and crazy young guy.” But Diaz knew his former rival and believes the Irishman will grab the victory. He added, “I think Conor is better than Chandler. But Chandler, you’re great too.”

The 38-year-old MMA veteran bumped into ‘Iron’ Chandler at UFC 285. He even shared a piece of advice with McGregor’s next opponent, asking him not to win because Diaz had some plans lined up with the Irishman in the future. 

Diaz won’t mind a trilogy fight against Conor McGregor

Nate Diaz was also asked if he’d fight Conor McGregor for a third time if he decides to go back to the UFC. He replied positively. Diaz said, “I don’t think about it like that [wanting to fight McGregor the most]. But regardless of that, I would like to get the third fight with Conor.”

He believes that a third fight between them needs to happen. Diaz said, “I think it’s inevitable, right? So yeah, for sure we’ll be fighting [again].”

The Diaz-McGregor rivalry has always been one of the biggest rivalries in the history of the UFC. Fans would certainly love to see them fight again.

Jake Paul has promised Conor McGregor that he will do something that ‘Notorious’ could never do, and that is knocking out Nate Diaz. We will have to tune in on August 5 to see how things pan out for the ‘Problem Child’.
