Nate Diaz and Jake Paul are gearing up to face off in a highly anticipated boxing match scheduled for August 5th. The electrifying bout is set to take place at the renowned American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. With all the buzz surrounding this clash, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has boldly voiced his prediction for the outcome.

Despite Diaz’s years of experience in MMA, Hearn doesn’t expect him to win against Paul in a boxing ring. Furthermore, although the match is currently touted as a ten-rounder, Hearn finds it highly unlikely for the fight to reach that mark.

Eddie Hearn doubts Nate Diaz’s credentials

During his recent appearance on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Eddie Hearn openly expressed his doubts about veteran MMA fighter Nate Diaz as a potential opponent for Jake Paul. Reflecting on a preparation clip he had seen, the 44-year-old boxing promoter stated, “I watched clips of Nate Diaz hit pads. I think I might have even told you. And I was like… You know that it’s going to be a mismatch against Jake Paul, don’t you?”

As the conversation unfolded, Helwani mentioned that the fight was now scheduled for 10 rounds. Hearn quickly responded, “It won’t go four. I mean, listen, unless it’s all a bit of a bluff by Nate, what I saw,”

Eddie Hearn’s critique didn’t stop there. He further emphasized his skepticism by mentioning that he wouldn’t bet entirely on the former UFC fighter if he were to face Ariel Helwani in the ring.

Hearn gives Helwani a chance to beat Diaz

Adding another layer of critique to the 38-year-old Diaz, Eddie Hearn stated that even in a hypothetical fight against the MMA journalist Helwani, he would still see it as a 50-50 chance. With a hint of humor, Hearn proposed, “We can have a friendly bet on that fight… I’ll give you 3-to-1 on Nate Diaz if you want.”
