Floyd Mayweather‘s much-anticipated bout against John Gotti III, going down on June 11 in Florida, has clearly been the talk of the town amongst boxing and combat fans. While there already is a lot of hype surrounding it owing to the grandson of the infamous John Gotti making strong statements ahead of the fight; the exhibition in itself promises massive entertainment for viewers and fans of the undefeated boxer.

As we inch closer to the date, another major piece of news concerning the event came to light as it was revealed that Latin superstar and Latin Grammy winner Ozuna would be performing in the event. Music fans will be familiar with Ozuna, who gained worldwide fame for his collaboration for the superhit track ‘Taki Taki’ alongside Selena Gomez.

As the undefeated Mayweather gets ready to face the grandson of organized crime icon John Gotti, fans attending the event will also get to experience the performance of Ozuna and many more artists. The 31-year-old Puerto Rican-born recording artist is a massive Latin superstar and has multiple Latin Grammy Awards and Billboard Music Awards to his name.

Having collaborated with Daddy Yankee and more famously with Selena Gomez, DJ Snake and Cardi B, Ozuna’s presence at the event will add the much-needed glam factor to what is already a hyped-up event.

Mayweather’s statement also sums up the sentiment around the event perfectly.

“This is all about combining the entertainment of top-flight musical performances with top-flight skills in the ring,” he said, as per Boxing Scene.

Interestingly, the event is dedicated to Mayweather’s longtime assistant Marikit Laurico, who passed away very recently in April. Aptly named “Last Names Matter” this event will take place at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.

While celebrations and music will certainly play their part, it’s the fight between Mayweather and Gotti III that is meant to make the headlines. For the 29-year-old Gotti III, who originally started out as an MMA fighter, this bout against one of the biggest ever names in boxing will serve as a massive opportunity to make a mark in the combat sports industry.

 “He’s one of the greatest boxers of all time and he’s the reason I got into the fight game. But on June 11, I’m gonna punish him.” He claimed.
