Tyron Woodley is coming off a brutal knockout loss against Jake Paul. And according to his coach, he didn’t know it happened.

Former UFC welterweight champion Woodley took on Jake Paul recently. It was a rematch of their fight that took place earlier this year. ‘The Chosen One’ entered as a late replacement for Tommy Fury. Fury pulled out of the fight, citing an injury. Woodley stepped in and got knocked out in the sixth round.

While talking about the loss, his coach said, “I think he went through a series of different emotions. I remember standing inside the ring as soon as it happened and he was like no, no, when do I go back out? He didn’t even know, right when it happened, he thought it was in between rounds. And I’m sure he was probably wondering why everybody was standing inside the ring. He didn’t even know at that moment.”

“When I got out of the ring, I really just sat there, just in disbelief. That is really what the beginning was disbelief. You couldn’t believe that just happened.”

His coach also said that the guy who runs High Rollerz brought his daughter in the back and that brought Woodley back to life. After seeing the girl, he told her he was okay. And from there, his entire demeanor changed, and he accepted what had happened.

Tyron Woodley really wanted this win back

After Woodley’s knockout loss, many wanted to discredit Jake Paul for his win. After the bout, many fans started speculating that the fight was rigged. There was one particular moment in the fight because of which fans jumped to this conclusion. Just before Paul landed the devastating right hook that sent Woodley crashing down, ‘The Problem Child’ twisted his hand. This got fans talking, saying that it was a signal from him to Woodley.

However, Din Thomas, Woodley‘s coach, said that it was not the case and Woodley really wanted this to win. According to Thomas, Woodley really wanted to win the fight. He even said that if the fight was rigged and Woodley lost on purpose, they should have told him. He would’ve spent his time partying instead of working with Woodley. It was a proper fight and wasn’t a dive from Woodley at all.

‘The Chosen One’ is currently 0-2 in his professional boxing career, with both the losses coming at the hands of Jake Paul. Despite the setback, Woodley has vowed to return to fighting in 2022. He hasn’t looked bad in both of the fights against Paul and may have even won the first time around. He would want to keep working on his striking game and make a strong comeback. Woodley has lost his last six professional fights, with four losses coming in the UFC before making a switch to boxing.
