I saw your story from when you started and you said, maybe I am not a champion tomorrow or the day after that or in a year but I’m going to be a champion and it’s cool what you did. Congratulations, perseverance. That’s why I got it tattoed here, perseverance is what’s important,” Alvarez added.

Canelo Alvarez says Brandon Moreno is setting an example for up and comers

People like him are inspiration for everyone. Even for me because look at his story and what he dreamed of and visualized and he did it being the UFC champion. If I’m not mistaken, he is the first from Mexico. So that’s inspiration and motivation for everyone that in this life anything can happen and I become a fan of that kind of person,” said Alvarez.

Because at the end of the day we come from the same place and we are setting the example for the one’s coming up and to let them know that in this life anything is possible. I’m very happy and proud for what Brandon did and hopefully there are many more fighters like him,” he further added.

It was a magnificent spectacle for the fans to see the two champions of their respective sport meet up and have some words of advice for the other. Alvarez was expected to take on Caleb Plant next, but there have been some difficulties in the negotiations recently. Moreno, on the other hand, is enjoying his fruits of labor at the moment. What’s next for him, remains to be seen.
