Ryan Garcia and Sean O’Malley are involved in yet another cross-sport beef that’s been taking the internet by storm. While ‘Suga’, the bantamweight champion claims that he could defeat Garcia in a boxing match, the boxer, now believes he can “destroy” O’Malley in the cage.

The brilliant show of self-belief from both the fighters is certainly entertaining. Garcia is currently preparing for a bout against Devin Haney in April 2024 and O’Malley too has his hands full with UFC 299. Regardless, the two want each other’s heads bad. So what are Garcia’s latest claims?

The boxer has branded himself a “natural wrestler”. Implying that not only would he defeat O’Malley but he’d dominate him in a fight. He also didn’t want the fight to be unfair for similar reasons: “I’ll beat his ass in MMA. Guaranteed. I’m a natural wrestler.”

“I know I’m going to knock him out in boxing, that’s not even fair. What is fair is to test myself in MMA. . I would destroy Sean O’Malley.” The 25-year-old only wants what is fair for ‘Suga’. Of course, there’s a lot of shade being thrown around.

Meanwhile, the two have already shown their interest in the actual fight and have the blessings of former boxer Oscar De La Hoya. It’s now on Dana White to make the fight actually happen. We’ve seen UFC fighters transition to boxing but what about a boxer coming down to the Octagon? Here’s what fans think.

Certainly, fighting an MMA fighter is rather different than being inside the ring. Garcia has never fought in the Octagon before so it only makes sense for fans to not fully believe him. But if the super-fight does really happen, will the boxer come out on top? Who would you bet your money on?
