“Still a Full on Monster”: MMA Fans Ecstatic as UFC Legend and Former Light Heavyweight Champ Vitor Belfort Garners a Win Over Ronaldo Jacare at Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing 4

Vitor Belfort defeated Ronaldo Souza via unanimous decision at Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred boxing 4. ‘Jacare’ and ‘The Phenom’ boxed each other in an all-Brazilian affair at Gamebred Boxing 4: Jones Jr. vs. Pettis. On his 46th birthday, Belfort beat his younger compatriot in a competitive boxing event.

Between 1997 and 2018, Belfort amassed a 15-10 record in the UFC. The 46-year-old veteran is also one of the select few who have fought in the UFC and Pride FC. “The Phenom” boasts a 5-5 record under the legendary organization while also winning the light heavyweight championship.

His opponent and fellow countryman, ‘Jacare’ Souza, has a 9-7 record in the UFC amassed over eight years in the promotion. He holds wins over notable names like Derek Brunson, Gegard Mousasi, and Chris Weidman in the UFC. Interestingly, he also holds a win over Vitor Belfort in the UFC. The 43-year-old finished Belfort in the very first round in their bout at UFC 198 in 2016. Souza is also a former Strikeforce middleweight champion.

The co-main event of Gamebred Boxing 4 was an all-out war, Vitor Belfort started strong but his best round was the third. He knocked down his opponent twice in the third with a finish looking within his arm’s reach. However, a defiant ‘Jacare’ took back some control in the fourth round and landed shots of his own on ‘The phenom.’

The compatriots went the full distance and showed respect at the end of their bout. The scorecards were 57-55 and 58-44 from two other judges in Belfort’s favor.
