Francis Ngannou might be ready with his fists but in truth, he’ll need direction more than the knuckles. Thankfully, he has just that with a coach like Mike Tyson by his side. While Tyson and he don’t train very often, the legendary boxer still has a lot to teach him. In fact, even Tyson’s coach has been a great influence on the French-Cameroonian fighter.

The Gypsy King‘ on the other hand has been somewhat silent about the ways he’s preparing. Nobody knows if Tyson Fury is underestimating the former UFC champion or if he is working on his weapon. Because Francis Ngannou knows his power, and now, he also knows how to apply it. All thanks to one Teddy Atlas. Who’s Teddy Atlas? Here’s everything you need to know.

Teddy Atlas coached Mike Tyson like no other. Now, he’s also helping out ‘The Predator’ so he can win his match against Fury. Things are unfolding in an interesting way since Fury was actually named after Mike Tyson and is a big fan. Unfortunately, his dream icon has picked Ngannou’s side.

In the episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Ngannou shared a lot from his knee injury to his decision to leave the UFC. The conversation also took a turn towards Tyson Fury and how he’s a massive person. Fury does not have the most athletic physical shape but that’s precisely a trap for people who dare to underestimate him, and Ngannou knows better. After speaking about his traps, Ngannou mentioned what Atlas said that stuck to his mind.

“Everybody hit somebody in the chin is going down,” said Ngannou. “How to connect, the delivery system, and it’s something that I heard once from Teddy Atlas and it’s taken my mind. Like the delivery system, you can have the biggest missile but if you can’t hit your target, it’s useless.”

Mike Tyson was the best in his time not only because he could throw punches that felt like bricks. It was also because he could actually connect them. Tyson had the talent and the training to see his strength to execution. Once Ngannou masters the same skill, he can have a better chance against Tyson Fury.
