Jorge Masvidal was an exciting fighter. This is not surprising, considering he started his MMA career as a street fighter along with another fan favorite, Kimbo Slice. Although he never became champion, he was well regarded by fans for his thrilling fighting style, resilience, authenticity, and the underdog tale he embodies.
His raw and unique personality saw the WWE introduce a character named Razor Ramon based on him. Although a full-time promoter now, he talked about the prospects of a boxing match against Nate Diaz and Jake Paul in an interview with ‘ESPN MMA’.

Jorge Masvidal on a potential Jake Paul fight
When asked if he was interested in a potential boxing match with celebrity boxer Jake Paul. Masvidal dismissed Paul as a challenge and felt they were not real boxers. He was confident of defeating Paul and impressed with the money ‘The Problem Child’s fights make, and was willing to fight him because of that.
“I feel like these guys ain’t boxers, man. And I feel like they’re not me. From a businessman point of view these guys are not what would stop me from competing. With these guys, I would have a very good night and I’m hearing those numbers that got thrown around and made. I’m like ‘man, I’ll throw my hat, my name in that lottery pool that mish mash’.”

Jorge Masvidal confident of beating Nate Diaz and Jake Paul
He was so confident of victory, in fact, that he proposed to box former UFC opponent Nate Diaz followed by Jake Paul on the same day. That, he felt was the only way to ensure a competitive fight. He was also critical of the celebrity boxing trend and thought they lacked both, will and skill.
“I don’t know what’s going on with this influencer, they call it boxing, but these guys ain’t boxing. I feel like in that last fight I didn’t see either of those things, skill or will so if you’re talking about me fighting them dudes? Line them up on the same day, give me Nate then give me Jake and maybe it might be competitive.”
