Former UFC champion, Vitor Belfort, will fight in the boxing ring in August. ‘The Phenom’ will take on former NFL star Mike Holston. Ahead of the bout, Belfort sat down for an interview with MMAFighting and discussed all things about combat sports. Among many things discussed was another boxing match coming up between former UFC champion Tyron Woodley and YouTuber Jake Paul.

Belfort was not so appreciative of the Paul brother, to say the least. He also went off on Paul’s previous opponent, Ben Askren. Belfort believes they are wrestlers and are tarnishing the sport of MMA with their performances inside the squared ring. He also claimed that the Paul brothers were avoiding him.

“I’m telling you, you put these two brothers with me, I will fight both guys in the same night, You come, you get tired, comes the other brother next round, I’ll beat the c*ap out of these two brothers like that. Like that. They know that. They don’t want to do it. They’re afraid,” said Belfort.

“The Triller guys said ‘Vitor, when we brought your name up, they are shaken up oh no not him!’ and they’re choosing these guys, the wrestlers,” he added.

Belfort, who has previously boxed once during the early days of his career, has always been interested in crossing over to the sport of boxing. ‘The Phenom’ had Evander Holyfield at the top of his wishlist for a potential next opponent. But, unfortunately, that didn’t materialize. Still, it would be a great spectacle for the fans to see Belfort fight inside the squared ring.

During his time on top in MMA, Belfort was considered one of the best strikers around. So, he will certainly have the edge over his next opponent. Also, his previous experiences in the sport should come in handy. He always trains boxing too. Those factors combined, ‘The Phenom’ might actually pull a surprise once he steps inside the squared ring.
