Francis Ngannou has signed a massive deal with PFL after months of being a free agent. However, he didn’t put away his desire to fight in a squared ring. ‘The Predator’ revealed that he wanted to fight Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder. Thereafter, Wilder put forth an offer that shook the entire world. He claimed that the conversations were indeed proceeding on a serious note.

Recently, Deontay Wilder was spotted at PFL 4 backstage. The former WBC heavyweight champion had previously offered to fight Ngannou in a boxing ring as well as an MMA cage. In a recent talk at PFL 4, Wilder declared that the conversation was taking place and provided a hint of the fight actually happening in the near future.

Deontay Wilder gives insights about his fight with Francis Ngannou

The talks about ‘The Bronze Bomber’ fighting the former UFC heavyweight champion have been circling around for quite some time now. After the Cameroonian fighter revealed his desire to fight Wilder, the two teams went ahead and seemingly tried to make things happen. In a recent talk, Wilder revealed that discussions are already taking place regarding the fight with Ngannou.

Wilder said, “Me and Francis have had discussions, we had meetings with both parties, as far as the team is concerned. So this is a real conversation that has been taking place, not only just amongst the combat family, but amongst the teams as well, getting on the phone, everybody talking. So this is something that can truly happen to him. So the best is yet to come overall.”

Although the talks are happening, the teams are yet to reach a conclusion. He said, “There’s so many things that I could say, so many things that I can try to put in words to say, but at the end of the day, we’ll see what happens when it happens. That’s the best way I can [say it] to give people a peace of mind. These things are in discussion, but we’ll see what happens and when it happens, it’s gonna be amazing.”

Wilder puts a strong offer on the table for Ngannou

After Ngannou opened up on his dream fights and named Fury and Wilder as the ideal opponents, Wilder put forth a counteroffer that stupefied the world of combat sports.

The Olympian boxer proposed to sign a two-fight deal. One in boxing and the other in mixed martial arts. He further claimed that he was serious about fighting Ngannou.
