The MGM Grand Garden Arena was fully packed to witness the masterclass fight between Gervonta Davis and Frank Martin. Davis came back to the fighting arena after 14 months of hiatus as he was training. Their clash initially started with both the fighters pushing the pace but as the bout went further, Davis let the world know why he is referred to as a knockout specialist. ‘Tank’ knocked out Martin to successfully defend his WBA title.

With ͏30 confirmed victories and 0 defe͏ats, Davis once again ͏s͏howcased his mas͏terclass in front of a packed stadiu͏m.͏ Interestingly, out of those 30 victories, Davis has won ͏28 by knockout. Davis knocked out Martin by throwing a beautiful left-hand combination at 1:29 of the eighth round to defend his lightweight title successfully.

‘Tank’ took his time to build up the match as he calmly forced Martin to let his guard down, refraining from disclosing his prowess in the initial stages of the match. Things changed when the bell rang for the 4th round as Davis started overpowering Martin with his superior punches, there was some visible imbalance in Martin’s corner after that as well. Davis cleverly built up the momentum for the fight and clinched the victory in the eighth round in front of 13000 people.

After his victory, Davis jumped up on the ropes and declared, “Boom, that’s what it was. The brick just finished it off. I’ve been training since I was seven years old, competing since I was eight. You know what I mean? So, it’s like a second nature, you know what I mean? It’s just about staying focused and making sure my mind is on the goal, and that’s always to come out on top.” His masterclass caught the attention of the MMA community who were busy with the build-up of UFC 303.

This victory will be celebrated by asserting Tank’s supremacy. Regardless UFC bantamweight contender Marlon Vera seems to be amused by Davis’s knockout power.

Well, Vera was not the only MMA representative who reacted to the amazing victory as former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub was also awestruck by another who deemed the fight straightway.
