Many people shared their opinions regarding that issue on social media, and apparently, the former UFC champion has found some supporters. Controversial social media influencers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan shared the same sentiment as McGregor in terms of the UFC star’s political ambitions.

The country of Ireland has been going through a rough patch recently. After the recent riots in the capital city of Dublin, which is also Conor McGregor’s hometown, the former double champion shared a tweet, hinting that he could consider a venture into politics, which captured the attention of Andrew and Tristan Tate. Let us take a look at why the Tate brothers backed him for that move.

The Tate’s think McGregor running for president is a “wonderful idea”

Although Andrew Tate and his brother have been banned from many popular social media platforms, they found a home in Rumble. During a recent episode of their podcast, the Tate brothers claimed to be in love with the idea of Conor McGregor running for president of Ireland. Tristan Tate said, “I think that’s a wonderful idea [McGregor running for president].”

He claimed that the citizens of any country should have the right to choose a new representative to run their country if they feel that the ruling government has failed them. “I think if any country, whether they be Irish or Congolese or Ivorian or Moroccan, believes that their government has sold them out and isn’t listening to the will of the people, then I believe that it’s people’s prerogative to elect who they like,” Tristan Tate further stated.

Andrew and Tristan Tate believe that Conor McGregor has done enough to prove that he is worthy of entering politics. As such, they believe he could end up running for president. Tristan Tate added, “Conor McGregor has shown his head and shown his hand with the intention of running for a political office.”

The Tate brothers clarified that they are not acquainted with ‘The Notorious’ personally. But they are confident in his abilities to handle tough situations, given that he’s been fighting all his life. “I don’t know Conor, but Conor is a warrior. Conor fights his own battles and he knows violence very well,” Tristan Tate added. The controversial influencers even promised to show their support and fly to Ireland to support Conor McGregor.

The Tate brothers are willing to vote for McGregor

Tristan Tate continued to express his thoughts about Conor McGregor regarding his potential move to politics. He believes that the Irishman would show more compassion to his fellow citizens since he is a family man himself. Tristan said, “I also believe that Conor McGregor, who’s a family man and a fighter, would be a lot more protective in a masculine way about his own people and about the Irish people.”

These statements led both Andrew and Tristan Tate to reveal their Irish heritage. They claimed that their grandfather was Irish, and was born in Limerick, a city located on the southern side of the country. Moreover, they are willing to travel to Ireland and cast their vote if Conor McGregor decides to run for any kind of political position. We [he and Andrew] are 25 percent Irish and if Conor McGregor runs in any Irish election, I… will fly to Ireland… and vote for his a**,” Tristan Tate added.

Even though Conor McGregor has the backing of certain sections of people, we don’t know if he is serious about entering politics. There is no doubt that he has a significant amount of influence among the Irish masses, but for now, ‘The Notorious’ is aiming to make a return to the UFC. Maybe he could consider venturing into politics after he’s done fighting. But we will have to wait and see how things pan out for the Irish star in the future.
