The boxing match was competitive, with Woodley almost scoring a knockdown against Paul. In the end, however, the bout went all eight scheduled rounds, with Paul winning a split decision.

After the fight when asked on Twitter why he was in the locker room of the YouTuber, Poirier said, “I went to tell both guys good luck.”

Poirier also visited the locker room of Tyron Woodley and posted a video of ‘The Chosen One’ warming up. Hence, it appears as though Poirier, who visited the event as a normal spectator, was called backstage by the organizers to add to the star involvement on the night.

Finally, when asked what he thought about the boxing match, Poirier said, “I thought Tyron was gonna do a lot better than that. He’s been in the gym for the last 15 years, fighting, training mixed martial arts. He’s a former world champion, but he’s not a boxer. He’s a big puncher, but he’s not a boxer. The art of boxing is different, it’s a different thing.”

Why did Jake Paul give Dustin Poirier a necklace?

Before the fight between Woodley and Paul was booked, ‘The Problem Child’ had called out Conor McGregor for a scrap. McGregor, however, was already booked to fight Dustin Poirier.

In the rematch, Poirier had stopped McGregor in the second round. To commemorate this loss, Paul had a necklace made. Named the “Sleepy McGregor chain”, the necklace bears a replica of Conor McGregor’s body posture and facial expression from UFC 257.

‘The Problem Child’ gifted this necklace to Poirier after his trilogy win.
