Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva made a triumphant return to boxing last weekend as he managed to earn a decision win over former WBC world champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Silva’s former opponent and former UFC champion, Vitor Belfort is expected to make his boxing debut soon.

Silva and Belfort have fought previously at UFC 126 in 2011. ‘The Spider’ managed to earn a front-kick knockout against ‘The Phenom’. The clip of the knockout is part of many highlight reels. Now, Belfort has issued a challenge to his former foe, wanting a rematch but this time inside the squared ring.

“I think we will, They say the rematch is something everyone likes. It’s not the dish we eat, it’s the dish you eat. My message for him is ‘see you soon,said Belfort in a recent interview.

Belfort and Silva both are considered two of the greatest strikers in the history of the UFC. So, fans would love to see the duo go at it again, especially since a boxing fight between the duo would be much more intriguing as it has the potential to carry a lot of elements of surprise.

Silva has hinted that he would like to make a quick comeback inside the squared ring. As for Belfort, he is currently booked for two fights even before making his boxing debut.

As mentioned earlier, both Silva and Belfort are combat sports legends in their own right. So, a fight between them always makes sense, be it MMA or boxing. ‘The Spider’ and ‘The Phenom’ will put fans in seats wherever they fight.
