On December 16th, Jake Paul will be moving toward what fans have called the biggest fight of his career. After his fight with Gervonta Davis fell through, the ‘Problem Child’ will take on former two-time boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. By accepting such a massive challenge, the YouTuber-turned-boxer is earning genuine praise from fans for finally stepping in with a real, active boxer instead of someone past their prime. But…he’s charging some serious cash.

The fans apparently asked the 28-year-old boxer to reveal how much he was charging to fight Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight showdown set to stream on Netflix. To end the curiosity, he wrote on X, “Stop asking me. $267 Million.” Just like that, Paul pulled all the attention back to himself as he announced this astronomical amount for his next fight.
That amount of money would not only place him among the top-paid boxers in the world, but it would also surpass some of the biggest athletes globally. According to a post by HardRockBet, if Paul actually receives the $267 million, he would leap past Cristiano Ronaldo, whose current base salary is $230 million, and even Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his $45 million salary to claim the highest-paid athlete tag for 2025—but not of all time.

According to Forbes, Floyd Mayweather reportedly earned a staggering $275-280 million for his bout against Conor McGregor. With that in mind, Paul would take second place if he truly got the massive payout he mentioned on social media. And honestly, grabbing second on that list would be huge for the Problem Child’s career. Still, fans aren’t ready to buy it completely.
Although Paul’s career has been extremely lucrative so far, he earned $40 million for his fight against Mike Tyson; his bagging over $200 million seems a bit out of the ballpark. And as expected, fans reacted to the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s claim by dropping some wild comments. So, let’s check them out.

Fans react to Jake Paul bagging $267 million for Anthony Joshua fight
One fan chimed in and wrote, “That’s wild wild,” and it really is wild that Jake Paul could get himself into a position where he might actually receive money that even the top boxers only dream about. Following that comment, another fan asked a more rational question, “How and where is that money coming from? Absolutely absurd!” Well, it’s still a mystery how Jake would pull off such a staggering amount, considering his highest payday so far came from the Tyson fight, where he earned $40 million.

Then a user definitely had a solid answer about where Paul might be getting that kind of money by writing, “Because yall pay to watch him fight duh.” And yes, fans either love or hate watching Paul step into the ring, and because of that, they end up spending their money to see him win or get knocked out. Either way, the YouTuber-turned-boxer ends up grabbing the majority of attention for his fights, which in turn generates the revenue.
Even though Paul has definitely become a money fight in the boxing scene, some fans still cannot believe he would actually get $267 million, as the doubts kept coming, “Who believes it nobody.” And until an official source confirms it, the claim remains a rumour, especially since Paul is also known for trolling people online. Adding to the reactions, another user who’s clearly not a Paul fan wrote, “The word athlete just lost its credibility,” implying the fan doesn’t even consider Paul an athlete.
Lastly, another fan added to the reaction, “he better hope joshua is having an off night for that december fight.” Well, Anthony Joshua has been one of the top heavyweight boxers for a long time, and he’s clearly the Problem Child’s biggest challenge so far, with knockout power that can put anyone to sleep. So yes, Paul needs to be very careful dealing with the British heavyweight.
