Recently, the apparel malfunctions women fighters have to face during the fights have come to light through Jessica Andrade and Montana De La Rosa. Both these female fighters lost their matches as they were not able to put their complete focus on their fight due to the wardrobe malfunction. Andrade, who fought against Erin Blanchfield in the headline match, was forced to submit in round two via a rear naked choke. Andrade talked about the huge misfortune that came her way that resulted in her 10th loss while admitting that she lost concentration in the game as her breasts slipped out during the takedown attempt by her opponent. This resulted in the loss of position, and eventually, the fight changed completely in favor of Blanchfield.

Similarly, in UFC Vegas 70, Montana De La Rosa too faced a similar issue. In the match, De La Rosa lost to Tatiana Suarez through a guillotine choke. From the very beginning of the fight, Suarez was trying hard to establish a dominant position over De La Rosa. Her wardrobe malfunction was clearly visible while both fighters were engaged in the bout. Both incidents led to fans demanding better outfits for female fighters.

The American fighter took to her social media handle to talk about the issue. She wrote, “This is definitely a wardrobe issue hopefully @ufc, @venumwomen and @venum will fix this”.

Followed by her tweet ‘The People’s MMA’ made sure that they give the matter the importance it deserves. They tweeted “In all seriousness, they need a better design. I see how this could affected Montana’s defense/decision making.”

‘Women’s MMA Ranking’ too, felt it important to voice the issue as they tweeted “Montana De La Rosa wants to see changes to the women’s UFC fight gear following a wardrobe mishap at last night’s #UFCVegas70 event.
