Sean Strickland – the Middleweight star is the talk of the town after his UFC Vegas 76 win. Many fans and critics couldn’t believe the way ‘Tarzan’ dismantled Abus Magomedov in a second-round TKO. But that’s not all – ‘Tarzan’ saw this win as an opportunity to call out the Middleweight champ Israel Adesanya.
During the post-fight press conference, he boldly called out the ‘Sytlebender,’ referring to him as the “Chinese champion.” The rising star even claimed that he has an upper hand over ‘Izzy.’ Now, adding fuel to the fire, a former UFC Middleweight champ has voiced his ideas about the possibility of such a matchup between UFC’s ‘Tarzan’ and ‘Stylebender.’ Michael Bisping, a revered MMA and UFC icon believes that although Strickland’s recent win was “great,” his win doesn’t quite help him in getting ahead in the line for the title shot.

Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith give their two cents on Strickland’s bizarre callout to Israel Adesanya
In a recent ‘Believe You Me’ interview, Bisping sat down with Light Heavyweight contender Anthony Smith to weigh in on Strickland’s chances of landing a fight with ‘Izzy.’ The discussion kicked off with ‘The Count’ saying, “I thought Strickland was great though, he really was.”
Switching over to Tarzan’s callout, Bisping added, “He’s calling out the Chinese Champion[Israel Adesanya].”
The veteran revealed what he suggests could be the probable reason behind Strickland labeling Izzy as the ‘Chinese champion,‘”I don’t know why he calls Izzy the ‘Chinese Champion.’ It has something to do with something he said when he was kickboxing in China, back in the day.”
Turning to Smith, the former Middleweight asked him about the chances of Strickland getting a title shot. Smith indicated that if Robert Whittaker comes out on top in his next bout against Dricus du Plessis, it could improve Strickland’s chances. “I think if Whitaker wins, it helps Strickland for sure. I think that helps Strickland a lot…” the light heavyweight remarked. Bisping agreed, adding that Adesanya has already defeated Whittaker twice.

But Smith was not sure if ‘Tarzan’ would be able to get his wish granted. He expressed his doubts, saying, ” I think it’s tough right now…” But Bisping was quite optimistic. He argued that since Adesanya had already beaten Whittaker twice, it would hardly make any sense for the ‘Stylebender’ to agree to a third fight with the same opponent.
The UFC veteran took his time to explain Izzy stance, remarking, “Because it’s the third time – not because he[Izzy] doesn’t want to fight him[Whittaker], it’s because he’s already fought him and beat him twice. Not because he’s like ducking him. It’s like, ‘Bro, I’ve already done this…we’re just going to keep doing this?“
