White was battling Meniere’s Disease

Meniere’s disease is an inner ear disorder, which is associated with frequent episodes of vertigo, feeling of high pressure and ringing in the ears. The condition affects balance and hearing, as the fluid inside the ear gets higher than normal and starts affecting the nerves. It initially affects only one ear, in most cases, but progresses to affect both and ultimately results in complete loss of hearing.

Dana White has battled with this crippling disorder and has tried almost everything to be free of it. He had a surgery done in Los Angeles, which involved the insertion of a tube that would allow proper drainage of the excess ear fluid. However, the battle was far from over. A few weeks after the procedure, White still complained about dealing with Meniere’s disease.

Alex Rodriguez recommends Dana White to a treatment in Germany

When the New York Yankees’ third baseman, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez, came to know about Dana White’s condition, he advised him about a procedure called orthokine. Rodriguez himself underwent this procedure for his knee, as did the Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant and the actor, George Clooney, as well as Pope John Paul. Orthokine involves the extraction of a patient’s own blood and its manipulation, followed by its reintroduction to the patient’s body. It is a type of autologous blood therapy.
