Athletes from other sports transitioning to MMA or Boxing has become a very common trend these days.
Not only the athletes but the media also shows a keen interest in asking these players questions related to choosing MMA as a second career option.

NBA player Dennis Rodman was asked questions regarding the same subject in an interview. The reporter asked Rodman if he’d ever try fighting and what are his thoughts on UFC.

“Would you ever try wrestling? What are your thoughts on UFC, would you ever do it? Would you ever get in the ring?” the reporter asked.

Rodman replied, saying that he’s been asked a couple of times but it would cost a lot to get him to fight. He said, “I’m like you gotta pay me a lot of money to get my brains beat.”

Rodman has also criticized UFC in the past and has shown his support for another organization called K1.
He said, “UFC f**k that. UFC you got Chuck Liddell. I don’t know. We got these 16 guys right here. Any UFC cannot compete with K1. You get it. K1 is the ultimate fighting of fighting.”

Rodman had a stellar playing career; although, lately the player has become a part of some controversies.

Rodman said he going to Russia to seek the release of Brittney Griner, the WNBA player who was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment on drug charges.
He said, “I got permission to go to Russia to help that girl,” he then added, “I’m trying to go this week.” Rodman later backed out.

Sports persons from other sports who tried MMA
Over the years, we have seen a number of athletes from other sports who have tried their hands at MMA. While some found success, others just proved that they were not meant for the sport.

Brock Lesnar, probably the most recognizable out of them all, transitioned from WWE and is a former UFC heavyweight champion. A former wrestler turned WWE superstar transitioned to MMA and took the sport by storm. His career was shut down due to health issues.
