Shaquille O’Neal never leaves an opportunity to showcase the fun side of him. It is difficult for many top athletes to stay relevant after retirement, but that’s not the case with ‘Shaq’. He is always ready to face the camera and take the centre stage.

‘Shaq’ likes to attend TV shows, award functions, and interviews, and has a special love for combat sports. He’s made multiple appearances on UFC, AEW, WWE, and other fighting shows and has many friends in the industry.

In a throwback video, O’Neal can be seen flirting with a reporter when he attended the UFC on FOX 11 live event in Orlando, Florida. The renowned UFC reporter, Megan Olivi, jokingly compares her diminutive build with the 7’1” basketball legend.

She welcomed ‘Shaq’ and asked, “I’m joined by the man himself, Shaquille O’Neal, and how nice is it to be interviewed by somebody that’s just as tall as you?”

To her surprise, the joke didn’t end there as Shaquille O’Neal pulled out a classy pickup line to counter Olivi.

He replied, “Well, its always nice to be interviewed by someone as beautiful and as gorgeous as you. Like that pickup line? [Winks and clicks tongue]”

The appreciation from “the man himself” overwhelmed Olivi, who replied, “Oh that was good work Shaq,” before moving on to the next question.

Shaquille O’Neal reveals his favorite UFC fighter

‘Shaq’ is a long-time fan of MMA and has always been a fan of the rigorous training routines MMA athletes go through. He himself used to train MMA to prepare for the physicality in NBA and it impacted his career positively.

He is friends with many athletes and promotion owners in the business and loves the sport to the core. However, his favorite MMA fighter was unknown to the fans until recently.

Shaquille O’Neal gave an interview to Ellie Sechback during a party at his signature ‘Shaq’s Fun House’ in February.

Apart from trolling Sechback, ‘Shaq’ made a shocking revelation about who he likes the most in MMA. He was asked his thoughts on UFC welterweight fighter Nate Diaz, and he had nothing but praise for Diaz.

“I love Nate… because I love his fighting style. It’s similar to mine. IDGAF, if you know what I mean. He’s just real. I like people that are real, you know… and you gotta respect people like that,” ‘Shaq’ said.

Nate Diaz (21-13) is one of the most brutal fighters in the division and never shies away from speaking his heart out. Shaquille O’Neal finds his personality relatable to his own and terms it “real”.
