

Former UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman left the UFC world in shock after his abrupt loss to Leon Edwards in the final round after dominating the fight for all the rounds leading up to it. Usman has shocked fans again, this time for something he did outside the Octagon.

When the Nigerian was seen at one of Shaquille O’Neal- owned Big Chicken fast food chain’s outlets, working behind the counter and taking customers’ orders, UFC Twitter was amused and put forth various colorful theories about it.

Kamaru Usman seen working at Shaquille O’Neal’s fast-food chain
In a video that has surfaced online, Kamaru can be seen behind the counter at Big Chicken, taking orders from customers- including Shaq. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ was on a 15-fight winning streak, one short of Anderson Silva’s record streak of 16 consecutive wins, until his unexpected loss to Leon Edwards.

Usman had defeated Edwards the first time they met in 2015, fell to Edwards in their rematch, and could not win it back in their third encounter. Usman has recently expressed his wish to fight Khamzat Chimaev. However, Dana White shut down rumors of them facing off anytime soon.

The Nigerian was helping promote Shaq’s fast-food chain as the two have a good relationship, with Usman having recently wished “Unc” and “Superman” Shaquille O’Neal a happy birthday on Instagram.

Fans react to Kamaru Usman working at Shaquille O’Neal’s fast-food chain
Curious fans came up with all sorts of reasons why Kumaru was behind the counter. While some fans assumed that this was because of his back-to-back losses against Leon Edwards, which made him change careers; while others joked it had to do with fighter pay not being enough.

While fans had a field day with Kamaru working the counter at Big Chicken, putting forward many interesting and funny hypotheses, it is clear that Usman was doing it to help Shaq, who he considers an uncle. It is safe to say that Kamaru has not hung up his gloves for a Big Chicken apron – yet.
