Conor McGregor simply cannot escape the spotlight, even if he so desires. Unfortunately for the Irishman, most of the attention he garners is far from flattering. Recently, ‘The Notorious’ found himself caught under the bus yet again, following his appearance at the NBA Finals. In a moment that surprised many, the UFC superstar threw a punch at the Miami Heat’s beloved mascot, Burnie, resulting in the poor mascot being rushed to the emergency room.

It seems that even during his hiatus, McGregor managed to find himself embroiled in controversies. As he prepares for his highly anticipated return, he’s already engaged in yet another scandal, adding to his long list of missteps.

Conor McGregor promoted his brand with a punch

In a carefully orchestrated pre-planned skit during Game 4, Conor McGregor unleashed two punches on the mascot performer while promoting his pain relief spray. These antics were designed to create buzz and generate interest in his product, TIDL Sport. Following the blows, McGregor proceeded to spray the product on Burnie, the Miami Heat’s mascot.

Prior to the NBA 6 games, the person portraying Burnie received medical attention, including pain medication, and has since been discharged from the hospital, making a good recovery. Even though the incident was a promotional gig, the person playing Burnie was injured. McGregor’s communications team opted not to comment, and CNN is currently awaiting responses from the Miami Heat and NBA.
