NBA star Stephen Curry has joined football legends, David Beckham and Ronaldinho, in dividing the internet with a viral video. During his days at LA Galaxy, Beckham shot a video where he consecutively hit three footballs into three different trash cans at a beach. Similarly, Ronaldinho aced the crossbar challenge in an advert for Nike. The authenticity of both videos was heavily contested, with several fans arguing they were fake. Now, ‘Sports Illustrated’ released a similar video of Stephen Curry doing a comparable stunt with a basketball.

Thus, the reactions to Curry’s feat were not too far removed from those that Beckham and Ronaldinho received, and this left people talking about it.
Stephen Curry divided the internet with an insane basketball stunt
In the latest clip released by ‘Sports Illustrated’, Stephen Curry consecutively put five basketballs through the hoop. “Just finished a shoot with @stephencurry30 this dude just can’t miss”- read the caption to the original tweet.,
Leading MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani, retweeted the clip and his reaction showed how dumbstruck he was.

Hate to be a hater, but I’m calling bullshit. My guess is this comes out as some sort of viral marketing commercial or something.

Another fan pointed out how several details in the video pointed to it being a real one.
Everything is on point in this video!! The balls bouncing after each shot, the position of the balls after each shot, the sound and time on the clock!! I’m just gonna believe it’s real even if it’s proven fake!! 🤷🏻♂️🤣😂

Another Twitter user slammed journalists for retweeting the video without checking for authenticity. He pointed out how the videographer who made the clip has previously made fake edits.
i see people reposting this like it’s real and if you see this videographer’s page he makes fake edits. this isn’t real, the action is choppy, and it’s dumb that SI is acting like it’s authentic. also some of the sports journos reposting this with no checking need to slow down. https://t.co/OP7AHr80Sg

Yet another fan shared their excitement after watching the clip, saying how Curry exceeded his expectations.
When he did it twice I was like “insane, how many takes did he do?” Then he did it 3 more times like it was nothing.

Another fan simply refused to admit that it was real, no matter how real it looked.
Don’t care how good this looks I refuse to believe it’s real. It’s just not real
