UFC fans are surely excited to see Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal fight in the octagon. Their previous friendship and recent rivalry make it even more interesting. The fight is expected to take place at UFC 272 and will be one of the biggest non-title fights. However, it seems like this matchup does not impress fellow welterweight fighter Leon Edwards. He took to Twitter to express this. He wrote, “2 bums coming off losses”.

‘Gamebred’ and Covington have both lost twice against Kamaru Usman. Covington was on a seven-fight winning streak before his loss against the champion. On the other hand, Masvidal was on a three-fight winning streak before being stopped by Usman. But both the fighters are extremely popular and so, this bout will surely catch a lot of attention from the MMA community.
Their personal rivalry makes this even more interesting. Plus, they are highly skilled fighters who are going to be motivated to demolish each other. So this is going to be a blockbuster fight.
Why isn’t Leon Edwards impressed?
It is quite a well-known fact that Masvidal and Edwards do not get along. Their backstage brawl led to a long-time bitterness. Further, Covington and Edwards have taken shots at each other. So it is clear why ‘Rocky’ isn’t impressed with their upcoming bout.

Also, this bout leaves Leon Edwards without many options. A Belal Muhammad rematch or a fight against Khamzat Chimaev are some of his limited options. Hence, Edwards might not be too happy about this bout.

Further, Edwards has also been eyeing a fight for the title; against Kamaru Usman. Interestingly, he fought Usman back in 2015 and sadly lost the bout. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is one of the few fighters the Britisher has suffered a loss.
