Jorge Masvidal, the former UFC welterweight contender and ex-BMF titleholder, has embarked on a new venture in the world of fight promotion. Following his loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in April, Masvidal founded his own combat sports organization called Gamebred FC, specializing in bare-knuckle MMA fights.

Masvidal recently appeared on Mike Tyson’s podcast, ‘Hotboxin,’ to promote Gamebred FC’s upcoming 5th bare-knuckle MMA event. Which is headlined by a rematch between Junior Dos Santos and Fabricio Werdum. During the podcast, the conversation touched on various topics, including Masvidal’s fighting career and his opinion on Jake Paul’s boxing skills. However, Masvidal dropped an intriguing piece of information about Jake Paul’s previous opponent that may surprise MMA fans.

Masvidal mentioned that Diaz has always been eager for a rematch. Citing that he dropped Diaz three times in the fight, while Diaz had no knockdowns or takedowns. He also revealed that Nate hasn’t let go of the loss.

According to Jorge, “And he’s (Nate) always been like I want a rematch. I told him, I’ll give you a rematch, I don’t mind getting a paycheck, but now that we’re both doing boxing, I’ll probably give it to him in boxing.”

The possibility of this rematch materializing remains uncertain. Nate Diaz recently faced Jake Paul in a boxing match, resulting in a loss for Diaz. However, Diaz isn’t the only potential opponent for a rematch in Masvidal’s sights. Masvidal has also extended an invitation for a boxing rematch to the victim of his notorious flying knee knockout, Ben Askren.

The rivalry between Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal has a history in MMA. Dating back to their 2019 matchup, which ended with Masvidal’s iconic 5-second knockout of Askren. This knockout became a viral sensation, and Askren endured widespread ridicule from the MMA community. While Masvidal initially challenged Askren to a boxing match, Askren declined. However, in August of this year, Askren claimed that Masvidal refused an MMA rematch due to fear of embarrassment.

So come over, and we’ll get somebody to f***ng write you a nice cheque to f***ng get your head beat in and make the most money ever made in your career times two, but he’s such a coward he won’t do it.”
