Dana White does as he pleases. Loud and proud. White built this business with the goal of providing the people the best entertainment possible. And he takes all the necessary steps to achieve the goal. What he has done for the UFC is unbelievable. And it is also true that he has done unbelievable things in the UFC, too. One such feat, as he just recalled in an interview, involved relocating the entire event to make room for the Jon Jones fight.

Even though White is proud of this decision, many of the fighters on that card were not pleased with it. But now that the UFC president had spoken, his word stood. 4 years later, Dana White discussed the events that prompted him to take such a risky action. Even though the fighters were disappointed by his maneuver, he could not be happier with the outcome.

Tomorrow, December 30, will mark four years since UFC 232. And this UFC card is noteworthy for many people for many reasons. In a recent interview with Grant Cardone, talking about how the UFC works and what the promotion offers to the people, Dana White explained what led to the UFC card being moved to a different state.

Although he didn’t directly touch the specifics, he did give an overview of the UFC 232 there. White said, “Couple of years ago, we had an issue in Nevada with one of the fighters. We moved the entire show to LA during Christmas. It was Christmas week. During Christmas, we moved the show to LA. Refunded tickets here, put the tickets back on sale in LA for that weekend and pulled off the whole show, and sold the place out.”

Dana White was successful in his pursuit of making the Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson 2 possible as planned, but only at the expense of other fighters’ expectations.

Corey Anderson, who had a fight scheduled on that card, called out the UFC on Twitter over this last-minute alteration and how severely it affected him. And alongside, many fighters expressed their dissatisfaction with this impulsive action that the UFC president took just to make the title fight possible as desired.

There were undoubtedly many complaints and from their standpoint, they were fairly valid, too. But at the end of the day, Dana White is the boss, and he has the final say. And given that he aims to make the UFC the biggest combat sports league in the world, he is bound to carry out his vision with whatever measures he feels are best suited.

The UFC always delivers, says, White

Given that the UFC is relatively new compared to other combat sports, the fanbase it has amassed is astonishing. And Dana White now has the responsibility of delivering what the UFC promises. He talked about what the UFC stands for as a brand and how it serves the audience.

The UFC president stated, “We built a brand that people trust and believe in. They know that if they stay home on Saturday nights, them I’m gonna give you two or three ‘holy sh*t’ moments for you to jump out of your chair or couch or whatever it is.”

He further added, “We sell tickets before the fight even is announced. Before people even know what it is. Because people believe in the brand and the product that we’re gonna deliver what they want.”

And Dana White is correct in that regard. The UFC does, in fact, always provide good times. Additionally, the UFC president will launch his Power Slap league early next year, which has already generated a lot of excitement among fans. This simply multiplies the entertainment value several times over.
