Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov took to social media and provided an update for his legion of followers. Chiefly, ‘The Eagle’ spoke out on the medical condition of his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov, who is a UFC bantamweight. Umar Nurmagomedov is undefeated at 13-0 and is coming off an RNC win over Sergey Morozov in his UFC debut.

Umar Nurmagomedov took to Instagram and shared the news that he is just coming out of a successful cruciform ligament tear surgery. He also revealed that he was on his way toward a 6 month rehabilitation period following the surgery. Khabib Nurmagomedov decided to use his massive platform to repost the news and bring more eyes upon his cousin’s condition.

UFC fans and media have their eye on Umar Nurmagomedov as he prepares to make a meaningful title run at 135-pounds. Although he’s just one fight into his UFC career, Umar Nurmagomedov has shown a lot of promise. With Khabib Nurmagomedov in his corner, there comes a level of excellence that’s guaranteed every time he fights.
