Jose Aldo was one of the most celebrated champions in the UFC. Aldo was also the last ever WEC Featherweight champion. He became the first-ever Featherweight Champion of UFC after the collaboration between the UFC and the WEC. The now-retired fighter received the UFC Featherweight Championship following the collaboration in 2010. He is known for his down-to-earth nature amongst his fans and likes staying ‘off-camera’ most of the time.

But recently a video of him has surfaced, where he was seen talking about one of the worst nights of his life. His title defense fight with ‘The Notorious One’, Conor McGregor at UFC 194. A few endearing words were also heard from ‘The Brazilian Cobra’ about ‘Mystic Mac’.

Aldo’s words about Conor McGregor

The video showcased Aldo in an episode of a Podcast. In the initial part, Aldo can be heard talking about McGregor as he mentions how ‘Mystic Mac’, “was funny because the guy drinks a lot”. Aldo also said, “He probably even likes to drink Gasoline” in a hilarious tone.

Despite all that insult from McGregor, Aldo stated, “He’s a good person” because McGregor had an understanding of “the other side”. ‘Junior’ also went on to say how McGregor “was a guy with vision”.

He also credited McGregor, iterating, “it was his merit” to win the fight against Aldo. Discussing the night of his and McGregor’s fight, Aldo mentioned, “He had thrown a 1, 2 already that I dodged very quick and answered very quick and he got spooked”. Aldo talked about how he decided to strike a “Mike Tyson style” punch.

He also said, “When I went straight away, everything was spinning”. It was due to the fact that McGregor had connected cleanly with his ‘sniper’ left hand.

The host went on to ask ‘Junior’, “Did you think you were getting the rematch?”. Aldo replied, Thats what I wanted. It demotivated me a lot”, as he spoke in his usual Portuguese language.

Aldo also replied affirmatively to the host’s question, Worst moment when you think about it mentally?”. He stated, “Mentally? Yes”.

MMA fans have seen the backstage footage of Aldo’s emotional breakdown after the fight. Given his own opinions, it can be safely said that the night was a ‘nightmare’ for ‘Junior’.
