The current UFC Middleweight Champion, Alex Pereira, has been in the headlines for quite a few reasons nowadays. After besting his rival Israel Adesanya at UFC 287, the Brazilian fighter has shifted his focus to other things. In the last couple of months, ‘Poatan’ has showcased the lesser-known side of himself. His recent Instagram uploads exhibit moments from his personal life as well. A lot of fans found out about Pereira’s girlfriend ‘Merle’ who was featured in his Instagram videos multiple times. ‘Poatan’ also took his UFC Middleweight Championship back to his roots and visited his native ‘Pataxo’ tribe in Brazil recently, which left the fans in awe.

Despite being successful and famous, Pereira still carries the culture of his tribe proudly. Face painting at stare-downs and his iconic archer-styled walkouts, all bear testimony to the fact that he glorifies the culture of his native ‘Pataxo’ tribe. But little, do fans know that his walkout isn’t just an act.

Alex Pereira possesses legit archery skills

A recent video from the noted MMA coverage house ‘MMAFighting’ showcased the UFC Middleweight champ putting on a display of his commendable archery skills. Of late, the 35-year-old visited an archery practice facility and eventually hit the ‘bullseye’ after a few shots.

Pereira didn’t do well with his first few shots, but it was indisputable that he knew how to shoot an arrow. However, he got better and better with each shot. The Brazilian finally hit the bullseye after a few motivational words from his instructor.

They also shared this entire incident on their Twitter handle, which garnered numerous reactions from the fans.

He was evidently amused after hitting the perfect 10 and stated, “I just need some words”. A smile was also visible on the champion’s face who is notorious for his deadpan expression.

Fans are not impressed with Alex Pereira scoring a bullseye

Despite Pereira’s exhibit of his legit archery skills, a lot of fans saw nothing noteworthy in it. Several of them were of the opinion that Pereira stood too close to the target which made it easy to score a bullseye. One such comment read, “It would be harder NOT to hit the bullseye standing 3ft away”.

One more user wrote, I’d hope so he’s 5 foot from the target”.
