UFC 287 began gaining momentum as soon as Dana White announced the cards. Undeniably, the stacks are packed for an adrenaline roller coaster. With the main event being Alex Pereira’s rematch with Israel Adesanya, and the co-main event with Jorge Masvidal landing against Gilbert Burns, the card could be a contender for being an all-time classic.

However, Burns’ desire to get the championship belt hasn’t gone unnoticed. He recently took to Twitter and asked the UFC president to make the fight go five rounds and asked Masvidal to put the BMF belt on the line. However, on his appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’, ‘Gamebred’ refused to comply, reasoning that the UFC won’t hike the money if he fought for the title. Without a doubt, the act upset the fans when Masvidal’s words found their way to the social media platforms.

‘Durinho’, although a three-time world champion in grappling, is yet to win the UFC championship belt. To put his dreams into motion, the Brazilian previously put forth his voice in a tweet. He wrote, “Come on @danawhite April 8 has to be 5 rounds! Put that belt on the line! Everybody knows It’s only one guy in the @ufc that fights ANYONE!”

Ariel Helwani touched on the topic as he recently invited Masvidal to his show where he asked if the fighter was ready to put the BMF belt on the line. However, ‘Gamebred Fighter’ had no intention of giving up that belt.
