Conor McGregor suffered a second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He was knocked out by ‘The Diamond’ at UFC 257 earlier this year in January. However, this time he broke his ankle at the end of the first round of the contest during an exchange where both fighters failed to land on the other.

Nevertheless, McGregor believes that doesn’t count as a legit win for Poirier. he has voiced his wish for a fourth fight since. But it will certainly take some time before he heals up and is ready to make a return to the UFC Octagon. Recently, he posted a tweet once again taking a shot at his critics. However, ‘The Notorious’ later deleted the post.

“Jumping on a guillotine is not a takedown. Absorbing the kick into the leg is not a check. A doctor stoppage is not a tko. The game goes on bi*ches. Piss ants to me yous all are. Not even peasants. Piss ants! Now get to your stationed vlogger cameras you novice bums! #nobodies,” wrote the Irish fighter.

The Irishman attempted a guillotine choke at the end of the first round. He believes that shouldn’t be scored as a takedown for Poirier. He has always been vocal about the stoppage of the fight since the contest at UFC 264. McGregor has implied it was a doctor stoppage, not a T/KO.

What’s next for Conor McGregor upon his return?

McGregor is expected to fight Dustin Poirier once again when he eventually makes a return to the UFC Octagon. However, there are chances of other fights like a Nate Diaz trilogy available to him as well.

Who the UFC matches up their biggest star with, remains to be seen. But with only one win in his last 4 fights, McGregor certainly needs to win next time he steps inside the UFC Octagon to keep himself relevant as a contender of the lightweight division of the UFC.
