UFC President Dana White is never short of fighters stepping in on short notice to save a card. This has taken the UFC to a unique place where they can deal with a major difficulty in building a fight card that other promotions cannot do.
Before the UFC China card (UFC Fight Night 48: Bisping vs. Le) in 2014, one of the best welterweight champions of all time, Tyron Woodley stepped in on short notice against a streaking South Korean athlete Dong Hyun Kim. ‘The Chosen One’ recently shared the motivation behind his win on his social media handle.

“Kim did a promo kicking, chopping, and fighting chickens and watermelon and acted like he didn’t know that sh*t was racist FOH. Needless to say i got his a*s outta there in 60secs,” said the former welterweight UFC king.

The former Strikeforce athlete revealed his motivation for the fight: “My city of Ferguson was rioting due to killing of Mike Brown. We all were tired of this sh*t. I thought sending a strong message would lift my city up and show many good things come out the city.”
Woodley shared more info in the elongated caption in his Instagram post. ‘The Chosen One’ mentioned a Ferguson incident that took place on August 9, 2014.
