UFC lightweight fighter Bobby Green was featured along with his father and coach, Jacob Benny, in UFC color commentator Joe Rogan’s podcast. He shared how he met his coach, and how he ended up as his foster dad.

Green recounted how he met his dad, “I met my dad in gym. I’m going and doing Jig-Jitsu. And from the one class. He called me. And he’s like, what are you taking? What do you mean? He’s like, your supplement. We don’t what is supplement even know what it was. It’s like, you know, BCAA’s and stuff like that.

‘King’ soon recognized the difference between other coaches and Benny, “He brought me a whole care package and I start seeing this coach had a different love. He actually cared for the fighter. He actually was making sure of your health and what you are doing?”
Green had been living in multiple foster homes since he was a child. His biological father was in prison, and his mother, a drug addict. He was drawn to Jacob Benny’s genuine concern and took his words and guidance to heart.
Jacob Benny encouraged Bobby Green to aspire for greater heights
Green grew raised in a rough neighborhood. He was daring, yet gifted. Jacob Benny found his skill and was pushing “King” to greater heights in MMA.
“Like, my dad’s always told me it’s not what you do in the case of what you do help. You know, he like you’re so talented, you do stuff in the case, but it’s about what I’m worried about what you’re doing in the street.”

When Benny recalls his time in jail as a first-time offender on Joe Rogan‘s podcast, it’s surprising. He, like Greens, led a hard existence, which spurred him to make things better for his kid.
“If you don’t get, if you can get locked up, if you don’t get all these different situations, you know, yeah, so I’m trying to walk you down this pathway of me, going from coach and figuring out how to this fighting thing”.

Green suffered a major loss in his initial two debut fights but throttled back with an amazing eight-win streak in the lightweight division.King (29-13-1) has one of UFC’s most tremendous streaks with great wins and notable losses. Additionally, he is loved for his efforts.
His latest defeat against Islam Makhachev earned him a great deal of respect since he took the fight on a 10-day notice period.
