Scott Coker loves his fighters in Bellator MMA. He is especially fond of his champions and has shown his pride on multiple occasions. However, some people feel he may go a bit overboard. Many times, Coker has taken steps that seemingly disregarded the UFC, especially UFC president Dana White

In the latest instance of placing Bellator MMA above the UFC promotion, the president of Bellator MMA has claimed that Bellator light heavyweight champion, Vadim Nemkov‘s skills were far greater than those of any other light heavyweight contender. He even took the fight to the UFC and claimed that Nemkov was better than the contenders in the UFC. Fans were, however, quick to poke holes into the claims of the Bellator boss.

Coker recently claimed at Bellator 297 post-fight press conference, “Nemkov, to me, is the best 205-pounder on the planet. In any MMA league. Including better than the UFC’s 205ers.”

As Coker’s words went on Facebook, the fans took over the comments section to express themselves. They were quick to point out that back at the Rizin championship in Japan in 2015, Nemkov had faced defeat at the hands of Jiri Prochazka, a former UFC Light Heavyweight champion.

After his recent feud with Corey AndersonJamahal Hill was also dragged into the mess. Many fans believe Hill could also outbox Nemkov inside the cage. However, some fans also seemed to side with Coker, saying that he was simply boosting the fighter at his promotion. Yet some others also opined that they didn’t have to take Coker’s words seriously.

Here is what the fans had to say:

  • He always says that. If Romero had won he’d say the same thing. It’s his job to shill for his B league. But, we don’t have to take it seriously
  • How could that be – he already fought and lost to UFC’s Jiri Prochazka, so there’s that. And it’s not like “yeah but Nemkov improved since then”. Well Prochazka improved even more, so …
  • Way to go Scott Coker, you just made your league less legit. Jiri literally beat him.
  • Ummm does he not remember that Jiri already beat him. Yes a long time ago but both fighters have improved.
  • Nemkov already got beat up by jiri and hill would of out box/tough him in a war, nemkov is bellator level that’s it
  • Hilarious cuz he beat a 46 year old blown up middleweight that’s a good one
  • Haha and he fights in bellator..
  • He beat a guy that is 46 and couldn’t win a championship at 185 come on coker
