The MMA community received the news, not too long ago, about 30-year-old fighter Maria Favela getting diagnosed with cancer. She was struggling to pay for her medical treatment. It prompted UFC fighter Cynthia Calvillo to start a ‘GoFundMe’ account to aid Favela with the required monetary help. There were a lot of people fighters who donated for the 30-year-old Mexican, including the controversial Sean Strickland.
‘Tarzan’ gained recognition not just from fighting, but as one of the most contentious fighters in the UFC. He has a tendency to share some unhinged social media posts, and also to knock out some of his sparring partners during training sessions.

Sean Strickland donates to Maria Favela’s cancer treatment
It is evident that most MMA fighters do not make as much as the top fighters do. It has been an alarming issue of concern in the community. That was the reason behind setting up a ‘GoFundMe’ account for Maria Favela. As such, many fighters have taken their time to donate to the 30-year-old Mexican fighter.

Sean Strickland recently shared an Instagram story, letting his fans and followers know that he had also extended monetary support to Maria Favela’s treatment. However, he is not the only one who donated to Favela. Fellow middleweight Chris Curtis, strawweight fighter Angela Hill and the former UFC title challenger Claudia Gadelha, also extended their fair share of donations for the Mexican fighter.
Details on Favela’s cancer diagnonsis
Maria Favela was a former Invicta FC fighter. She currently has a record of three wins and two losses so far. However, she recently revealed that she was suffering from lymphoma. It is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic nodes, which are smaller bean-shaped structures and a part of the immune system in the human body. Lymphoma has the capability to destroy the lymphatic system.

The aim of Favela’s ‘GoFundMe’ campaign is to generate an amount of $75,000. And so far, people have graciously donated a total of $39,905. ‘Majo Leona’ later took the opportunity time to thank those people who took their time to help her out with her medical predicament.

Favela is going through an expensive medical treatment that requires a considerable amount of money. However, it is wonderful to see that people have extended their support to the 30-year-old with the hope that she gets well as soon as possible.
