Boxing is not a game for the weak-hearted. This has been proven time and time again. Recently, both Conor McGregor and Israel Adesanya felt more than compelled to talk about it. Why? Apparently, Tyson Fury’s controversial win over Francis Ngannou is to be blamed.

The illustrative sport of boxing has had both McGregor and ‘Izzy’ in it. They both understand the ins and outs of it. And that’s probably why McGregor sided with Ngannou after the match was over. On the other hand, Adesanya recalled his boxing days and confirmed just why he’ll never go back to them.

Israel Adesanya and Conor McGregor add thoughts on boxing and Ngannou

For many, Francis Ngannou outperformed Tyson Fury’s fair and square in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This growing list of people includes Conor McGregor. The fighter recently took to Instagram to express his opinion of the fight. In a long caption, McGregor said, “If it was MMA, this right here is a massacre. Fair play to Francis, and fair play to Tyson for taking the unknown challenge. Francis won despite what the judges say. . .”

He also called the fighting sport a “premier distraction from what’s going on,” in the very same caption. On the other hand, Israel Adesanya shared his story of participating in boxing back in his heyday. His experience was nothing short of terrible and unjust.

“Boxing as a sport is beautiful. Boxing as a business is corrupt as fu*k! ” Wrote Adesanya in a post. He’d been hit by his opponent in ways that can only be called illegal. A clear blow to the back of the head when Adesanya was already downed and more. However, Adesanya claimed that the boxer was never fined points.

Adesanya would never return to boxing

In the same post, Adesanya detailed on how he’s much happier with MMA. That’s because he would prefer using all his “weapons”. Clearly, just using his fists and footwork wasn’t making the fighter any happier in boxing. Plus the unjust behind the scenes issues of unregulated boxing contests didn’t help.

“It was fun but I’ll never box again, I prefer to use all my weapons in a real fight‼️” said Adesanya. For now, the fighter is waiting in recovery to make his comeback to the cage. He has previously mentioned how he’d like to just do something for “fun” for the time being.
