The former UFC double champion, Conor McGregor, has inspired many young fighters to land in the world of mixed martial arts. ‘The Notorious’ is indeed a sensation for the Irish fighters. Undeniably, Ian Garry is also one of the many who look up to the ‘Mystic Mac’. Garry shows off his confidence and seemingly salutes his role model by performing a McGregor-like walk in his fights. 

In his recent fight against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Charlotte, Garry secured a phenomenal victory with a knockout in the first round. Without a doubt, ‘The Notorious’ felt his pride rise higher. McGregor took to Twitter and welcomed him to ‘The Shot Caller Club’, since he previously predicted that he would stop Rodriguez with a right head kick. Nevertheless, ‘The Future’ has stayed undefeated.

‘Machado’ recently fought Rodriguez at the UFC Fight Night on ABC 4 card. However, his confidence was immensely high even before the fight. He previously said that he would knock his opponent out with a right kick to the head. Surprisingly, the fight proceeded as the Irish protege predicted. Doubtlessly, Garry impressed the entire community of combat sports, especially, McGregor, with his commendable performance.

Impressed with the welterweight fighter’s prediction coming true, the ‘Mystic Mac’ shared a tweet. He declared that the ‘Shot Caller Club’ has witnessed a new entry. He wrote, “When you call your shot and hit it, that’s special. The Shot Caller Club has a new entry, Ireland’s Ian “The Future” Garry! #NotAScratch”

Undeniably, he was among the many who were mesmerized by the knockout, followed by the barrage of punches. McGregor was also impressed at how Garry walked out of the arena without a single scratch on his body.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, ‘The Future’ revealed how McGregor influenced his career in mixed martial arts. He declared that he landed inside the cage because he was excited by ‘The Notorious’. Furthermore, he revealed how proud he felt when people compared him with his role model.

He said, “I’m not trying to be like him, but I want to be like him. I’m doing it my way, but in a similar type of fashion. For anyone to compare me to Conor is such a massive compliment to me.”
