Is Khamzat Chimaev playing a mere game of hide and seek with the UFC? Or is there a reason behind his absence from the octagon? Fans last saw Chimaev at UFC 279 back in September, where the Swedish fighter’s weight miss caused a ruckus on the PPV. Fast forward to 9 months later, and we still have no idea about Borz’s return.
For the last few weeks, there were some conversations in the air about a fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman. However, UFC boss Dana White quickly shut down all speculations, primarily because Chimaev and Usman belong to different weight divisions. Recently, a UFC veteran dropped a bombshell revelation about what could be the possible reason behind Chimaev’s absence.

Fight at Fight Island! Nobody wants rumors said about them, but this one won’t go away.”
Further, as per the American Gangster, even Chimaev’s team is not trying to put an end to this rumor, which may prove that it actually exists. He stated, “And you want to know something else? Nobody stepped up to stop it. Chimaev has got coaches, they have the stick to stop it. And then we’ll see Chimaev in other places. See, so here’s the story that’s believed – Chimaev can’t travel, he can’t go to fight Island.”
