Colby Covington is currently sitting pretty thanks to Dana White‘s decision to grant him a title shot against the reigning welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, despite a year of inactivity. While some have not received the news well, the UFC president remains adamant about making the fight happen.

With the assurance of the title shot on his side, ‘Chaos’ Covington is generating all the buzz and noise ahead of his clash with Edwards. He’s making sure to leave no stone unturned and has made some bold remarks against ‘Rocky’ to capture the attention of the fans.

However, in pursuit of getting attention from the UK fans, Covington has upset the UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping, who is not liking the tactics he is trying to pull off against Edwards. Bisping has voiced his displeasure with Covington’s tactics, saying that he’s trying to pull the wool over people’s eyes with his trash talk.

In his recent YouTube video, Michael Bisping weighed in on his thoughts on Colby Covington fighting Leon Edwards. While on the subject, the former UFC middleweight champion has expressed his displease with the Californian fighter’s games against ‘Rocky’.

Speaking on which, the 44-year-old said, “One of the first things he’s trying to do is turn the UK fanbase against Leon.”

Bisping further cites the 35-year-old Covington, saying, “He’s saying, ‘Listen, I wanted to fight in the UK. He doesn’t want to do it. He wants to put a Fight Night on in the summer. I wanted to do a blockbuster pay-per-view for the English fans, because they are the fans out there.'”

He further adds, “Listen, there’s no way it’s going to work. The people of the UK love Leon Edwards, and rightly so.”

Despite the backlash, Covington is not one to back down, and he seems to be riding high on the phrase ‘no publicity is bad publicity’. He’s determined to make the most of this opportunity, and with his eyes firmly set on the prize, he’s leaving no stone unturned in his pursuit of the title.
