In the world of MMA, social media has become an integral platform for fighters to engage with their fans.  Sometimes the fighters would also use the platform to call out potential opponents. The welterweight division has been one of the most active divisions in the UFC in this aspect. Recently, Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman exchanged a few words teasing about a potential fight. However, as much as the fans were hyped to see the showdown between two of the best fighters in the UFC, Dana White was not amused with the matchup.

Upcoming UFC fighter and Chimaev go back and forth

Shavkat Rakhmonov is searching for an opponent to make a statement and potential claim for a title shot. What would be better for him to conquer an undefeated UFC welterweight such as Chimaev? Hence, ‘Nomad’ posted a video of himself shooting in an open field. The intriguing part, however, was the caption he chose for the post – “Khamzat Chimaev” (followed by a bulls-eye emoji).

Furthermore, the caption was accompanied by a comment from Rakhmonov himself, which fueled the fire. He wrote, “Khamzat Chimaev sign and talk.”

‘Borz’ wasted no time in responding to Shavkat’s comment. He bluntly asked, “You want to retired early?” This short but powerful response left fans eagerly awaiting further developments in this potential matchup.

The prospect of Chimaev and Rakhmonov facing off in the octagon is an electrifying one. It promises fireworks as one of the two would be losing their undefeated status. However, the fight faces the same issue that Dana White addressed in the potential Chimaev vs Usman fight.

Chimaev’s inability to make weight at 170 pounds, coupled with Dana White’s reluctance to hold a fight at catchweight, would result in this incident being a futile callout.
